Mr. Gay World Arrives to Manila for Third Annual International Competition
Twenty Three Nations arrives today to the Philippines to share their experiences in overcoming homophobia

Manila, Philippines - March 9th, 2011
- Twenty-three gay men from around the world arrive into Manila for the third annual global competition for Mr. Gay World (MGW) where they will share their experiences in overcoming homophobia. The competition takes place over the next four days (March 9th - 14th) and will have various elements for the delegates to test their leadership, speaking skills and marketability as a spokesperson for gay rights for the next year. Some of the elements include a sports challenge, interview panel, national costume, photo challenge including swim wear, and public speaking.

The winner of Mr. Gay World will receive a handsome sterling silver trophy, custom Mr. Gay World Jewelry by world famous South African jeweller, Chris Winspear, a one year supply of Bonewear clothing and a travel package worth an estimated US$25,000 to visit the five continents attending various Gay Pride events and human rights special events including the 2011 North American Outgames Human Rights Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

The grand finale of Mr. Gay World will be on Sunday, March 13th 8PM at Club Mwah! 3rd Floor, The Venue Tower, 652 Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong City (Manila), Philippines. The finale will be hosted by "the King of Talk," Boy Abunda, a popular Filipino television host that is openly gay and in a relationship with his partner of 25 years. He is a staunch supporter of gay rights and gay marriage. International judging panel includes 1969 Miss Universe - Gloria Diaz, Miss Philippines Universe 2002 - Karen Loren Agustin, Editor in Chief of DNA Magazine - Andrew Creagh, Publisher & founder of Winq and Mate Magazines - Remco Teppema, International Make Up Artist - Jorgen Landby, Mr. Gay World 2010 - Charl VanDenBerg, and President of Mr. Gay World - Eric Butter.

The mission of Mr. Gay World (MGC) is to advance national and international gay rights through education and public performance. MGW creates authentic leaders who will take responsibility, not only in his own community but on a global stage, speaking out for equal rights by inspiring those around him. Ms Noemi Alberto is the Mr. Gay World 2011 Executive Producer for the host city of Manila, Philippines. Ms. Alberto has been part of the Mr. Gay World Board of Directors since their inception in 2009 and is currently the Director of Asia.
